Joe (he/him) and Corey (he/him) are truly two sweethearts. They’re spontaneous, genuine, appreciative of the arts and a good glass of wine… LITERALLY BEST COMBO in my other humble opinion.
But most of all…they love each other :)
They enjoyed some wine, we yapped about theater and beach spots and pets, and then bopped over to Fan Pier in the Seaport to stroll along the sunny cobbled walkways.
I felt at home with Nicole (she/her) and Ari (she/her) immediately upon meeting at the Kelleher Rose Garden in Boston’s Back Bay. After so much rain and heat, I was crossing my fingers the roses were still around. MAN, were they ever! Stunning pink blooms framed these two lovebirds who could not stop giggling and making each other smile. And how perfect, too, that their engagement rings are rose-themed!
A chance online meeting, a weirdly similar astro chart, and a chemistry that defied distance. I had so much fun capturing Shai (they/them) and Jett (they/them) on a gorgeous sunny Boston day in April. Fresh blooms and late-day sun adorned the Charles River Esplanade and Public Garden, and we took our time ambling about and enjoying the sights.
In this trying and dark time in our country, I am repeatedly in awe of how much queer love triumphs hate, and extraordinarily grateful to be trusted and contacted to capture this love. To march fearlessly hand-in-hand, unapologetically oneself and in love, takes bravery now. It shouldn’t. It shouldn’t be considered brave to simply live, and love. But right now, it is, and I will forever be there to capture this act of rebellion in the form of laughter and joy.
Eva (she/her) and Jonson (he/him) were wed at Garage B at the Speedway in Boston on a beautiful Fall day. Rich, velvety tones and vibrant florals accompanied the raw texture of Garage B’s sprawling, naturally-lit space. These two and all of their guests had one thing in massive common: UTTER STYLE. It was a photographer’s field day to capture.
Brenna (she/her) and Natalia (she/her), are a Tinder success story all the way from Arizona. They both decided to take a vacay together to enjoy the iconic Boston foliage, and along the way, Brenna contacted me to set up a couple’s session with her and Natalia. As the session neared, Natalia sneakily DM’d me with a request: she wanted to propose during the shoot.
Shira (they/them) and Colin (he/him) were wed at a lakeside summer camp in New Hampshire. They both have a deep love for the outdoors and sought to share that with their many loved ones on their wedding day — and boy did they succeed! It was a day of music, joy, song and dance — and really, really good food. And, the rain even stopped right in time for them! What more could one ask for on their wedding day?
Shaina (she/her) and Laura (she/her), while not unfamiliar with the East Coast, have spent most of their recent years between San Fransisco and Portland Oregon. Now they're back! They’re a Tinder success story whose first date was at an arcade; I found these two to be just as easygoing and playful in spirit as their taste in date spots! Drawn to the occult (“we’re both Scorpios”) and history, the Quincy City Hall’s timeless New England architecture called to them.
Laughter erupts over the swath of white chairs dotting the lawn at Harman’s Herb Farm. What the Studio Audience does not know is that in another minute they will be crying. (What the wedding photographer does not know is that the hanky they snatched from the strategically-placed-hanky-basket at the greeting line will not, after all, be exclusively used for polishing their lens.)
Bet you’ve never seen a slam poetry reading at a wedding. Bet you’ve never seen several. But that’s just the way Truj and Brian roll.
I've been told love comes to you when you least expect it, and Caitlin (she/they) + AJ (she/her) are evidence of that. I am constantly overjoyed to capture queer love and tell the stories of creative, passionate people who found themselves in this wild world.
For their Boston engagement photoshoot, we started off in their lovely home adoringly decorated and fabulously stylish, before moseying over to the Arnold Arboretum with AJ’s motorcycle.
Jessica (she/her) and Stephanie (she/her) met through mutual friends in the Jamaica Plain queer community, which I know to be a vibrant and welcoming space. Having met these two for the first time on our shoot, I would also describe Stephanie and Jessica to be just that: vibrant and welcoming.
We enjoyed a summer stroll through the Arboretum, chasing the shade and enjoying the views. (And seeing some amazing dogs, too)
I always love when I shoot with clients who feel like friends. Truj (they/them) & Brian (they/them) are just Like That - magnetic and companionable. When we first met, we talked for ages about everything: art, poetry, video games, tattoos, cosplay, music, travel, podcasts, food. They love everything, they want to know about everything, and they want to try everything, together.
It was clear to me that these are people who share a zest for life, and found each other to explore what it has to offer. That, personally, is what the Ideal truly is.
These two are extremely dedicated and invested contributors to the local arts. Shira (they/them) works as a director and dramaturg and Colin (he/him) is an experienced stage manager.
Together they invest their time and skill in showcasing the talent, thoughts, and works of the LGBTQIA+ artists and activists in the greater Boston area. Their dedication is evident in the work they do, and I can tell they build off each other, inspire each other, and most of all, support and love one another.
Em and Bryce met each other at Northeastern University and have been attached at the hip for six years now. Bryce popped the question during a recent trip to London this year. While they’re fans of traveling, these two are self-proclaimed homebodies, but there’s nothin’ wrong with that. Finding someone you can create a home with is what real love is all about! And these two have a cozy little nest in Eastie with their cat, Hunky Dory.
Sav (she/they) and Matt (he/him) are all the things you love to see for people in love: excitable, curious, passionate, and creative. I met them both through my creative photography brand ChezPhoto, where I specialize in costume photography. Sav works in Biotech and is an extraordinarily skilled seamstress, always planning her next big build; she loves problem-solving and collaborating. Matt is a middle school teacher who is always looking for ways to enrich and foster the rapidly growing minds of his students. Together, they are adorable, dorky, goofy, and very in love.
Over the years of knowing her, Sam has become one of my favorite people. She’s hilarious, creative, ambitious and talented…so when I eventually met Connor, I was stoked to see she had someone just as amazing as her for a partner. Connor is a total sweetheart and also just as goofy as Sam, with an enthsuastic curiosity and thoughtfulness I really admire. Together, these two are a class act. Whenever I hang out with them, I leave with my face sore from all the smiling.
It was a beautiful sunny day. Not too cold, but it IS Boston in the winter, so naturally it was quite windy at the ICA, where these avid museum-goers were on a date that afternoon. Tucked away in a quiet shady corner by the water, Sylvie got down on one knee. Smiles and happy tears were had, which are my favorite things to photograph :) We made the windswept look work for us as we walked along the harbor, taking some photos in front of the gorgeous sunlit Boston skyline before warming up in a nearby cafe.
Melanie and James were wed on a beautiful cusp-of-Autumn day in the Arnold Arboretum among their closest friends. Having put off their initial wedding plans due to Covid, they decided to go the stress-free, easy route: elope by 3, hit the bar with their pals by 5.
If there’s one thing about Lauren and Brendan–wait, nevermind. I was going to say: “They know how to party”. But it’s way more than just One Thing with These Two. Their wedding day was a blast from start to finish. The vibes were on, the company was excellent, the jokes were funny… and they were both so in LOVE.
The unbridled joy on Nadia and Scott’s faces throughout the entirety of their wedding day speaks volumes for the magnitude of their love - both for each other and everyone who shared the day with them. A beautiful July day at the Villa at Ridder Country Club set the stage for laughter, tears, and honestly, the best first dance I have ever seen in my life
