LGBTQ Cape Cod Windmill Elopement

Ollie (he/him) and Ansley (she/her) were wed on a beautiful day in Cape Cod. They booked a cozy getaway weekend at the quaint Captain Farris House, and I truly cannot recommend the destination enough. The staff was dedicated and friendly, and the space was SO unique and lovingly tended to. Definitely check it out if you’re thinking of visiting the Cape; I immediately felt at home there.

I met Ollie a few years ago when he contacted me for some gender-affirming headshots. He was such a pleasure to photograph — so I was really excited when he hit me up to photograph his wedding.

After so much rain we’d been getting lately, the sun was shining and out for Ollie and Ansley, who met at Emerson College (my alma mater as well!). It’s been a while since I’ve shot an elopement, and this really solidified how much I love capturing intimate and private celebrations like this. I truly get so much great imagery from the amount of time I get to focus on the couple themselves — and they were able to be so in the moment with each other without the hubbub of a busy reception or ceremony. Honestly, a win-win. Hit me up for your elopements.

Luck was just with us all day, following us to the quiet and empty Judah Baker Windmill; Built in 1791, the Judah Baker Windmill is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is Yarmouth's last-surviving windmill. It was a beautiful little venue with the Nantucket Sound as the stunning backdrop for their vows.

These two are so devoted to one another, and I was so thrilled to be a part of their day. CONGRATULATIONS, Ollie and Ansley!
