Palma Sola Botanical Gardens and Mote Aquarium Indian Wedding

Avina and Michael were wed at the Palma Sola Botanical Gardens and followed their 5-hour ceremony with a lively reception at the Mote Marine Lab and Aquarium. Their day was filled with music, color, laughter, games, dancing, and most importantly - love, all around.

It was truly an unprecedented experience for me as a photographer to capture such a whirlwind of a day; with three other videographers on the case to capture each angle of every moment as it happened, I saw my role as moreso to curate a narrative of the rituals from a different perspective. I hope you will enjoy the journey from start to finish, with Avina and Michael and all their loved ones.

Having never photographed an Indian wedding before, I have to admit: no amount of studying (which, I promise I did!) could truly prepare me for the action that filled the day. Every single facet of the rituals were composed with a thoughtful precision unlike anything I’ve ever seen (and I’ve seen a lot of weddings). Let’s just say, I was NEVER bored behind the camera. It was a visual smorgasbord for a photojournalist like myself. I thank the wedding planner and other videographers endlessly for helping me navigate what was once unfamiliar waters…but hey, now that I’ve done it, I’m prepared for the next one. I would LOVE to shoot another Indian wedding!

Going through these images again and it was like the day just happened; it left quite an impression on me, where I can still hear the music and the excitement and the cheering. I hope that when you look at these, even if you weren’t present, you will feel that same life and love too.

Thank you Avina, Michael, and your lovely families for having me. Congratulations!
